The core functions of the NwSSU PESO are: Employment Facilitation; Labor Market Information Dissemination; and Referrals. Dr. Leonida S. Bernadit, the university PESO Manager, was invited as a Resource Speaker in the recent Division School-Based Senior High School Summit and Career Guidance Culmination with the theme “Four SHS Exits: Transcending the Emerging Demands of the Industries” held at San Joaquin National High School, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City, last June 30, 2023.

Dr. Bernadit emphasized the importance of the Labor Market Information to avoid mismatch during the Job Employment. Moreover, she oriented the Senior High School graduates to anchor their strands with the programs that they will be pursuing in their college years. As for those who will not be pursuing college, they can immediately seek jobs related to their academic tracks. Citing also the significance of securing an NC II Certificate from the Technical Education and Skills Development Agency or TESDA in job seeking, to the extent that this will serve as their passport in landing a job abroad.

NwSSU PESO Office assured its continuous support to the community relative to employment facilitation in accordance with the DOLE standards and policies. Finally, NwSSU commits to collaborate with the Department of Education, other Government Agencies and NGOs for the welfare of the society.
